Welcome to the SSH Toy Club. We’re new so allow us to introduce ourselves.

The internet is filled with fanatics of nostalgia. Vinyl records have made a comeback, movie remakes are coming out every weekend but a long lived trend has been present since the 1970’s… and that’s collecting toys.

“Humans have collected since the dawn of time. Our tendency to forget leads us to seek out tokens or memorials of experiences that have had a significant impact on our lives. There is a nostalgia to it, a psychological connection to persons, places, activities or events from our past that brought us great joy, safety and/or identity.”
– Dr. David Henderson, psychiatrist & owner of Four Stones Collaborative Group

As generations age, chasing down the toys of their youth has become big business. Original GI Joes and Star Wars figs have steadily increased in value as baby boomers have more and more disposable income. Those trends are now making their way to Gen-X with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, 3.5″ GI Joe, Thundercats, Transformers and wresting figures. It starts innocently enough with a $10 purchase of a Funko Pop! or cleverly packaged re-issue, and before you know it you’re on eBay setting up alerts to get real-time notifications any time Mumm-ra’s Headdress becomes available…

This is where we come in, we’re a Toy Club, but our mission is to provide a place where collectors can help each other in their journey of collecting… a community where pieces of plastic bring us together.

So whether you’re a scrapper, scavenger or hoarder, we think you’ll enjoy SSH Toy Club. Thanks for reading, and thanks for playing.
